Nag Tibba — the "Serpent's Peak" — is the highest point in the Lesser Himalayas and the perfect first trek for anyone leaving from Dehradun. It is an easy, beginner-friendly weekend climb that still rewards you with a sweeping summit view of Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Kedarnath and the Gangotri range. Dense oak forest, a cosy night under canvas and a gentle pace make it ideal for families and first-timers.
Pickup from Dehradun for the scenic 90 km drive to Pantwari.
Reach Pantwari, meet the guide and begin the gentle forest climb.
Reach the base camp. Hot lunch and time to settle in.
Short acclimatisation walk and free time among the oaks.
Bonfire, dinner and an early night before the summit push.
Pre-dawn summit climb to catch sunrise from Nag Tibba top (3,022 m).
Soak in the 360° Himalayan panorama and photos.
Descend to base camp for breakfast.
Trek down to Pantwari.
Begin the drive back.
